Roses and Scriptures - Collaboration

Alright guys, so this picture is a collaboration with Lurockia Of which I’m incredibly thankful for because it wouldn’t have turned out this well if she hadn’t been there. While I did the boys and the pillars, she came up with the pose and did that ridiculously gorgeous background you see there. Seriously, look at that, goddamn

So this picture is much more than a simple collaboration, it’s an announcement involving Reaver and Celsius.

Let me just tell you how I’ll be forever shocked by the progress these two have made as a pairing. First let’s look at Reaver. When he was first created I could have gone on and on about how he’d never find love simply because he wanted nothing to do with it. He was too cold, too angry and far too damaged for anyone to have been able to handle anyway. He was fine alone. And in truth, with Reaver and Celsius it wasn’t ‘love at first sight’ at all. These two had an early relationship of give and take. They both offered something the other wanted and they were perfectly happy with this type of union. It wasn’t a romantic relationship by any means.

I like to say that slow and steady won the race because that’s exactly what Celsius did. While Celsius would have been better fitting a slab of stone with his emotions, his patience and the fact that he never once pressured Reaver for anything at all was what truly earned Reaver’s trust. These two took everything slowly and it was that simple fact that eventually opened them up to each other.

As you all know if you’ve read any of the descriptions for the countless pics of these two I’ve already done, Reaver panicked pretty hard when he realized that he was falling for Celsius. He’d show affection one minute and turn into ice within the blink of an eye. Reaver was flighty, he’d randomly disappear whenever it got to be too much and leave Celsius for weeks or sometimes months at a time. And no, they weren’t officially together at this point but it was rather confusing for Celsius.

Like Reaver, Celsius had never quite experienced love. At times it seemed like it just wasn't apart of his programming. He grew up in a very loving family, parents who encouraged him to do his best and do well in school but even then there was just something that wasn't quite right about him. He never spoke much or interacted with others and when he did it was short and to the point with little to no small talk. With circumstances such as these how could he possibly ever have fallen as deeply in love as he has for a man like Reaver?

Truth be told it wasn't easy. He had always been cold and rather unfeeling so when these feelings began to surface for the first time it was very confusing. Like molten lava breaking through solid rock, what was once cold and unmoving suddenly began to crack and break apart to reveal a beating heart underneath.

It was uncomfortable. Not to mention concerning.

Reaver had begun as nothing more than a mere business venture. Someone who was a bit more interesting than everyone else and had the talent to emphasize that. Had Reaver turned on him he wouldn't have hesitated much in ordering his men to dispose of him if needed but even when times seemed uncertain he found him fascinating. Allowing him to act as he pleased without much repercussion. When he finally gave into these new feelings he experienced something he never had before. He felt.. Happy.

It wasn't a sentiment he was used to but he definitely liked it and to lose it would be the cruelest pain to experience and one he hopes he'll never have to feel.

Now this picture shows something very important. While the roses are just a small detail and as generic as they may be, they fit these two very well and Reaver tends to give Celsius roses on a number of occasions when he wants to show him how much he adores him. The letters on the other hand are actually pieces of a puzzle; a scavenger hunt Reaver had set up around the city they had vacationed in. Each letter led to the next and finally to Reaver himself where he’d been waiting to do something incredibly astounding.

Reaver proposed to him, as unbelievable as that is. I know I could hardly believe it myself.

Reaver had reached a point where he loved Celsius more than anything, he wanted to be bound to him in every way he could be. This man had accepted everything that Reaver was, the instability, the bloodlust and even the softer parts of himself that he hardly knew he had and dared not show a single soul.

As amazing as it was, Celsius accepted his proposal and they had a fairly short engagement that only lasted a few weeks before having a private wedding ceremony. Reaver cast away his own last name and took Celsius’ as a way to put his past behind him and move on with the person that had given him the entire world. This picture is a celebratory piece of art for Celsius and Reaver Von Linden. I rarely see much need to marry my characters off but these two have become so head-over-heels for each other that they absolutely demanded it.



So there you have it~ Reaver and Celsius have been officially married!

As a last note, I’d really like to say to Lurockia that you’ve been such a good friend to me and I just appreciate you so much. You’ve really helped me in general with improving my art and even my attitude and I really couldn't thank you enough for it. I love you to death man~
